A grieving mother orca’s cry sparks a Native American community to rescue her and her family from the brink of extinction. One girl makes the ultimate sacrifice — diving into the sea to live with the orcas to finally re-emerge with timeless truths about killer whales, humans, and the ties that bind us all. This re-imagining of a Coast Salish tale weaves together myth-making and truth-telling, animation and documentary footage, Indigenous experience and modern science, to bring to life the ongoing fight to save the orcas . . . and ourselves.
